Discrete Mathematics is a 0.5-credit elective course designed for senior high students interested in studying advanced, college level mathematical topics. The goal of this course is to introduce students to finite systems that are widely used in the computer and social sciences, such as the mathematics of networks, logic, social choice, and decision making. Material will be presented in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, lectures, class discussions, research projects, group work, etc. Applications and modeling are central and there will also be a heavy emphasis on technology usage, particularly in coding and programming. Pre-Requisite: Academic Algebra II.
